第二次国内革命时期，兴国县桃花乡豪绅孙老八结匪顽抗，李玉梅跟着农会与他展开斗争，与共产党员王杰相爱结合。在之后的红军反围剿中，王杰等人参加了红军。长征开始后，李玉梅等人留守继续斗争。卷土重来的白军团长正是豪绅孙老八的儿子孙殿起。。The movie will feature the family of Mohanlal's character Georgekutty and so they will be reprising their roles.
