本美术片为剪纸片。 时逢六月酷暑，去西天取经的唐三藏师徒四人走得又渴又累，抬头一看前方有座寺庙，慌忙走了进去，谁想竟是座荒庙。孙猴将师父安顿好，外出去找吃食，八戒想先一步吃到食物，与他结伴同行，可是他实在太懒，走了一会便嚷嚷说肚子疼，孙猴无奈放下他独自去找吃的。孙猴费了番周折找到一堆美味水果时，八戒也无意间得到了一个大西瓜，只见他将西瓜分给四份，先拣最大一份吃了，随后又禁不住美味诱惑将师父和师兄弟那份吞下肚，这一切，都被孙猴看在眼里，孙猴决定好好将他戏耍一番。。Back Stage is a 1919 comedy, one of the last films that Buster Keaton would appear with Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle before they went their separate ways, Keaton would get his own studio, and Arbuckle got into feature length films.
