故事以赤穗藩（现在的兵库县）为舞台，讲述为了给在江户城松廊下伤人而被迫切腹谢罪的赤穗藩君主浅野内匠头报仇，四十七名浪人武士团结一致，向宿敌吉良上野介报仇……。On the first holiday season following Elsa's coronation, the story centers around Olaf's first experience with the holidays. Anna and Elsa have no true understanding of the holidays or seasonal tradition due to their enforced isolation over the years. This prompts Olaf to journey off into Arendelle in search of a holiday tradition for his family to share.。《寒蝉鸣泣之时·煌》是《寒蝉鸣泣之时》系列作品10周年的纪念作品，OVA动画预定全4卷。每隔两个月一卷，第一卷预定于2011年7月21日发售。 据官方表示本次的新作将有超乎众人想像的内容，无论是已经看过、或者是第一次接触「寒蝉鸣泣之时」系列的朋友都能乐在其中。 「寒蝉鸣泣之时·煌」将以汇聚各种元素的原创故事所构成，而预定在7月21号推出的「寒蝉鸣泣之时·煌」OVA第一卷「罚恋篇 -喜-」是以原作「寒蝉鸣泣之时解」「揭晓篇」中的「庆功宴」为基础改编， 故事讲述在社团活动中落败、总是得接受处罚游戏的主角圭一，为一解这股郁闷，计划着要让其他人嚐嚐有过之而无不及的处罚游戏，但是正处于妄想中的他，又将迎接什么样的结局？。
