该剧讲述的是美丽的苗族姑娘阿榜回到了“歌与舞的海洋、情与爱的世界”的故乡，与妹妹阿莆在“姊妹节”送出了“姊妹饭”，姐妹俩心爱的人识破了附加在“姊妹饭”里的“一对筷子”的无言情书。从小在沿海城市深圳长大的阿榜不仅回到了苗族山乡，而且回归了苗族文化。。故事发生在1985年的伦敦，Walter与妻子Agnes从塞拉利昂移民到英国伦敦，在这里他们生下了儿子Kobna并建立起了家庭和稳定的生活，但这一切都被Walter的弟弟Valentine的到来打乱，初次离开塞拉利昂，不熟悉英国，但Valentine想要在伦敦有一番作为。。Babli (Ranbir Kapoor) is a street smart car mechanic living in a Delhi orphanage.
